![]() Enjoy the amount of Star Wars books we have and ignore people who try to pit one canon against the other. I'd say try it out and see if you like it. I read books from both canon and legends, sometimes simultaneously without confusion because again, they are very different. If you like the style and tone of the new series, I doubt reading Heir to the Empire is going to ruin it for you. So it's not like Disney or Lucasfilm are attempting to completely bury it. On a side note, a lot old canon books that were out of print saw new releases because of the acquisition. I liked starting over from a clean slate and reincorporating the good while leaving out the bad. It's not that the old canon was completely bad, but it was rife with a lot of issues that are too much to get into one comment and would have proven problematic for a new film series. I was one of the few long term fans I knew who wasn't upset to see the old canon demoted to Legends with the Disney acquisition. ![]() ![]() Personally I think Zahn's new Thrawn series is better than the Thrawn Trilogy. If you're looking to start the Legends books, the Thrawn Trilogy is a good place to begin. ![]() To hide spoilers in your comments use the following formatting minus the asterisk:. ![]() Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good - April 27, 2021 He sets his sights on the Wayland storehouse of the late Emperor Palpatine, which contains a massive array of Spaarti cloning cylinders and a working cloaking shield.
